Bradford Forster Academy is a Christian faith school. Our chaplaincy department plays a central and vital part in making that Christian faith real. Through our values of hope, endurance, forgiveness and trust backed by our key #attitudeofgratitude we seek to encourage to live within our school strapline (Colossians 3:14) of ‘Clothe yourselves in compassion and love’.
Our chaplaincy is about JOY
Jesus centred. Christianity is about many things but more than any other it is about one person, Jesus. We seek to make the true person of Jesus real in our collective worship, our times for reflection, our R.E and other lessons and in how we live together as a community.
Open to all. Our chaplaincy is open to all people without or without faith. We exist to encourage and support all whatever their gender, orientation, race or age. Whilst we hold to the truths of the Bible, we welcome questions and challenge. We are inclusive and loving.
Young people focussed. Our chaplaincy is there for all, staff and students but is especially focussed on the young people who are at the heart of our school. Our chaplaincy seeks to befriend and support all our young people. We serve them to see them fulfil their potential in their lives and in God.
Our chaplaincy provides pastoral support to students and staff, leads on collective worship, helps to set the vision and values of the school and arranges a wide range of groups and activities. We hold groups to explore the Christian faith, deal with life issues and on specific topics such as relationships and self-esteem.
We partner with a number groups and individuals to help us to invest in our young people, such as the local C of E Churches, the local Salvation Army, Missional Generations and Life Church, Bradford.
Stuart Gregg is our chaplain and leads our chaplaincy service. He holds a degree in theology and led a local, inner city, based Church for over 25 years. He is passionate about the Kingdom of God and supporting all people to reach their full potential in God. He is married and has three grown up (or they think they are) children. He likes hill walking in the Dales, Doctor Who, The West Wing, Shakespeare, good beer, good curry and good wine !
