Year 7

Computer Science and Information and Technology

During Year 7, Bradford Forster Academy pupils take part in the subjects of Information Technology and Computer Science. Pupils experience a range of topics across the two subject areas.

Information Technology

The Bradford Forster Academy Year 7 Information Technology curriculum is designed to ensure that all pupils can understand the use of everyday software and acquire the skills to make effect use of each. This will be developed over a series of units which will look at key areas from E-Safety to money management.

Students will develop skills in working with: presentation, spreadsheet and word processing software.

Computer Science

The Bradford Forster Academy Year 7 Computer Science curriculum is designed to build pupils knowledge of logic and problem solving. Pupils will begin by looking at developing programming knowledge in Scratch. Students will be given the opportunity to develop upon an existing game. From there students will also be looking at graphic development software, before combining both skills in an end of year project.

Year 8

Computer Science and Information and Technology

During Year 8, Bradford Forster Academy pupils take part in the subjects of Information Technology and Computer Science. Pupils experience a range of topics across the two subject areas.

Information Technology

The Bradford Forster Academy Year 8 Information Technology curriculum is designed to embed the understanding and use for everyday software and acquire the skills to make effective use of each. This will be developed over a series of units which will look at key areas from E-Safety to project management.

Students will develop skills in working with: presentation, spreadsheet, word processing and desk top publishing software.

Computer Science

The Bradford Forster Academy Year 8 Computer Science curriculum is designed to build pupils knowledge of logic and problem solving. Pupils will begin by looking at developing text based programming knowledge in Python. Students will be given the opportunity to develop upon previous knowledge of Scratch. Following this students will move to HTML language and webpage development.
